Natural Pet Care
Organic food, holistic health improvement therapies, alternative treatments have all gained an important place in realm of human health and fitness. But it’s not that natural products and approaches benefit only human beings. They are equally beneficial for your pets. Not too long ago animals like cats and dogs were surviving quite well in their natural habitats. But ever since they made the transition from jungle animals to pets we have been constantly showering them with unnatural or artificial products. From medication to food, there is very little in pet care that follows the natural approach. It’s wonderful to buy your pet the best dry food available in the market. However its species did not spend years in the jungle eating kibbles. It’s understandable that sometimes time constraints don’t let you cook for your dog. However at least a few times a week you need to give your pet home cooked food which contains a variety of nutrients. A mixture of vegetable, meats and whole grains made by you at home without any artificial preservatives will be healthy and special for your pet. Instead of artificial nutritional supplements you can use herbal products that have virtually no side effects. For fishes depending on whether they are carnivorous or herbivorous you can give them leafy vegetables, organ meat and blood worms. For a lot of pets human contact is a frightful experience. In nature they usually tend to run away from us. One such species is a frog. So what is cuddling for us is a life threatening experience for a frog. You may want to consider this the next time you pick your frog and try to play with it. Cats and dogs are comfortable with physical contact and don’t mind the cuddling because it’s very close to how they interact with their own kind. For example it’s normal for a cat to rub itself against you. Cats like to do that with other cats as well. Even when you are trying to discipline your pet striking it is never an option. Besides being illegal in a lot of places, striking your pet can affect his temperament negatively. When your pet is unwell seek out the traditional veterinary treatment but also try to find out if an alternative treatment exists. Homeopathy, acupuncture, massage, acupressure and herbal medication have all been used successfully in treating many pet health issues Again there are many books that will teach you to successfully use natural methods to take care of normal pet health probpems. Alternatively you can also find a vet who compliments traditional veterinary treatment with the natural approaches mentioned above. A lot of vets also exclusively use natural and holistic therapies to treat pet health problems. So don’t run to the pharmacy each time your pet has a small health problem instead see if you can use a natural treatment to help it.
